Appointment Overview

I’m a fully qualified Osteopath which means I’m a regulated healthcare professional with extensive training in body and mind health. My goal is to help you understand what’s happening and why to build confidence in your body so you can feel good again.

Find the cause of your pain

The most important thing for anyone that’s experiencing pain is to understand what’s happening. Knowing about your condition and how it is best treated and managed can bring a sense of relief, and with it confidence that can help you to move again.

When you come to an appointment you will be given the opportunity to describe how you feel and what you are experiencing. This helps me to get to know you and develop a treatment and management plan that suits your needs.

Provide treatment that is centred around you

To provide you with the best treatment possible I will let you know the most appropriate treatment options so that you can decide what is best for you. You will always be able to discuss any thoughts, goals or fears that you have with me and I will be happy to explore methods of treatment with you and adapt anything as necessary.

I will always work in a way that feels comfortable for you.

Offer individualised advice

I believe that to reduce the risk of further injury or recurrence everyone should be provided with information that can help them to manage their condition at home.

You will be provided with individualised exercises and advice that suit your lifestyle and that you can fit into your day. I also aim to provide you with information that you can draw upon in the future for your personal ongoing self care of your health.

To ensure you are well cared for follow-up appointments may be advised to discuss any changes after your consultation treatment. These appointments ensure that you have everything you need to feel better. At this point, we can decide on the plan that may be the most beneficial to your recovery and to reduce the risk of relapse.

I will be available to help support you if you have any questions about your health and options for treatment at any time

I found Laura Turner to be very professional in her approach, able to explain her techniques thoroughly and offer full support between appointments. Her knowledge of CFS and Perrin Technique is excellent, which is quite a rare thing amongst medical professionals! She has studied to a high level and really knows her subject, and she is able to tailor her treatment plan to the individual. She is also encouraging and clear about the treatment goals. Highly recommended. - Kate M

Had my first visit today. Laura is very knowledgable and highly skilled. She made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. She took the time to explain all the mechanisms behind my issues. The physical work was incredibly relieving and I left feeling much lighter. She has a whole body approach, I've been to lots of different people for my issues and it's rare to find someone who considers all the factors contributing to a physical issue. You get a lot for your money as well. I highly recommend. Thank you Laura! I look forward to next session. - Lucy

Laura is a compassionate miracle worker. From the moment I met Laura I felt at ease and within less than an hour I knew that she was just the kind of therapist I needed for my conditions. Laura's holistic approach is gentle, understanding and encouraging. You're not asked to endure pain or emotional turmoil and you're certainly treated like you matter. I found my initial consultation very profound and unlike anything I've experienced before. I left it feeling like the weight of my burdens had been lightened and the reaction within my body lasted for almost a week -I slept better, moved better and felt optimistic for the first time in a long time! Laura provided me with a great follow up to my first appointment too, with a range of tools to add to my toolkit to both help me on bad days and keep me on an even keel on the not so bad. I was astonished at the variety and how there was no pressure -they are there for me to use if they resonate but there will be no "telling off by the teacher" if they don't get used. How refreshing! Now heading into my third visit I am really looking forward to my weekly appointment and really appreciate all of the knowledge and skill that Laura has to give in helping me feel better. If you are unsure, my best advise would be to just give it a go. I wish I had met Laura a long time ago! Lisa W

Osteopathy is a whole-body approach to healthcare that was founded on the principles that structure and function are linked to overall health and well-being. Since the early days of osteopathy, our understanding of the body has changed. I consider the psychological effect of your condition and the influence that situations and social connections may have on your health.

Touch, physical manipulation, muscle energy techniques, stretching, and massage are used to increase the mobility of joints, relieve muscle tension, enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and help you to understand what you are able to do outside of the treatment sessions to promote your body’s natural healing mechanisms. Lifestyle advice and exercises are provided to aid recovery, promote health, and prevent symptoms from recurring.
